Synopsis

Colorado sought to enjoin a Kansas water users' association from pursuing litigation in federal court against Colorado water companies, claiming the suits threatened Colorado's rights to water resources. The Supreme Court granted Colorado's injunction, ordering the Finney County Water Users' Association to cease prosecuting the pending cases in the District Court of Colorado, while dismissing other relief sought by both states and requiring them to share the costs equally.
